Sierra Nevada:

This forest in California provides a diverse range of habitats , having about 400 species of endemic and 200 species of rare vuscular plants. Unfortunately, it is threatened by grazing, fire, urbanisation, logging and mining forests. 


Sundarbans:

The forest is the part of world's largest delta which is formed by the river Ganga and Brahmaputra. The name is said to be delivered from the word sundari, a reference to the large kind of sundari trees which exist there. It is also a site of tiger preservation project.


Tropical Rainforests:

These forests are located generally in hot, wet and equator regions. These forests are filled up with evergreen trees. It is also estimated that half of the world's plant and animal species live in these forests. 



Coniferous Forest:

These forests are found in areas where there are moderate to heavy annual rainfall and long winters. They are similar in shapes and height and often form a nearly uniform stand with a layer of low shrubs or herbs below. Pines, Spruces, Firs and Larches are the dominant trees found here.

A Treasure Trove 6,500m Below Sea Level

A US navy destroyer that was sunk during the World War  ll  and was found by an American exploration team. They stated that the destroyer was lying 6,500 Meters below the sea level.     The 115-Meter-long ship was sunk on October 25,1944 during the Battle of Leyte Gulf as US forces fought to liberate the Gulf as US forces fought the Philippines- then a US colony- from Japanese occupation. According to the US navy records, only 141 of the ship's 327 crew survived. Sonar data, imagery and field notes collected during the dives would be returen over to the US Navy, Vescovo said. 

Famous Lakes In India

  Wular Lake: The Wular Lake is situated 32 Kilometers from Srinagar. It is the largest lake in the Jammu and Kashmir region. It also controls the flow of the Jhelum River, which passes through it. Chilka Lake: It is located on the east coast of Odisha, Chilika Lake is the largest brackish saltwater lagoon in Asia. It is also a home to many varieties of birds. Sambhar Salt Lake: The Sambhar Salt lake is the larges inland salt lake in Rajasthan, India. The lake's bed is covered in salt sheets which looks like snow from a distance. The lake remains dry during the summer months. The lake's shore is lined with slat pans and refining works.  Kolleru Lake: Located in Andhra Pradesh, Kolleru Lake is the largest freshwater lake of India. Lying between the deltas of the Krishna River and Godavri River, it acts as a reservoir to control floods. It is an important habitat for migratory birds.
