Tikal was an important capital city of the Mayan Kingdom. The site was occupied for more than 700 years. Tikal National Park is located in Northern Guatemala's Petén Province within a large forest region often referred to as the Maya Forest, which extends into neighbouring Mexico and Belize. The Tikal Ruins, which was established in the years of 1950s, is the central attraction of the Tikal National Park. The site was abandoned by the 10th century after years of occupation.

The ruins of Petra, which is famous for the stone structures built into the rocks, lie southwest of Jordan, on the edges of the the mountainous desert of the Wadi Araba. In 1812, the hidden site was revealed by the Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt. The site, described as 'a rose-red city half as old as time', became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985.

The famous Indus Valley Civilization was the earliest known urban center in present-day Pakistan and western India. The traces of the Indus Valley Civilization were to be discovered first in 1921 at Harappa, located along a dry river Ravi, in the eastern Pakistan. Later traces were found in 1922, at Mohenjo-daro, near the Indus River in the Sindh region. Harappa was an important city with an enormous fortress, built on a raised mound in the West. The rest of the city had a grip pattern of streets. Most houses were laid out around a courtyard. Toilets and Baths were connected to an advanced drainage system.

A Treasure Trove 6,500m Below Sea Level

A US navy destroyer that was sunk during the World War  ll  and was found by an American exploration team. They stated that the destroyer was lying 6,500 Meters below the sea level.     The 115-Meter-long ship was sunk on October 25,1944 during the Battle of Leyte Gulf as US forces fought to liberate the Gulf as US forces fought the Philippines- then a US colony- from Japanese occupation. According to the US navy records, only 141 of the ship's 327 crew survived. Sonar data, imagery and field notes collected during the dives would be returen over to the US Navy, Vescovo said. 

Famous Lakes In India

  Wular Lake: The Wular Lake is situated 32 Kilometers from Srinagar. It is the largest lake in the Jammu and Kashmir region. It also controls the flow of the Jhelum River, which passes through it. Chilka Lake: It is located on the east coast of Odisha, Chilika Lake is the largest brackish saltwater lagoon in Asia. It is also a home to many varieties of birds. Sambhar Salt Lake: The Sambhar Salt lake is the larges inland salt lake in Rajasthan, India. The lake's bed is covered in salt sheets which looks like snow from a distance. The lake remains dry during the summer months. The lake's shore is lined with slat pans and refining works.  Kolleru Lake: Located in Andhra Pradesh, Kolleru Lake is the largest freshwater lake of India. Lying between the deltas of the Krishna River and Godavri River, it acts as a reservoir to control floods. It is an important habitat for migratory birds.
